“Sugar Skull!” is a touring, bilingual/bicultural show that uses traditional, regional Mexican music and dance to tell the story of 12-year Lita Flores, who questions the tradition, when, much to her surprise, she finds herself on a magical journey to unravel the true meaning of Dia de Muertos.
Lita’s mission is to build an awesome family ofrenda (altar), and along the way, she dances with her ancestors, sings with a sorceress, and escapes from tricksters.
Catch "Sugar Skull!" at the Downey Theatre for a special one-night engagement Saturday, Nov. 4, at 4 pm. Tickets can be purchased from the Downey Theatre.
