Irma Huitron, Downey's new director of community development, will be the guest speaker at the Downey Chamber of Commerce's City Affairs meeting Wednesday, Aug. 16.
The meeting begins at 12 pm inside the chamber's board room and is open to the public.

Huitron joined the City of Downey in July after previously working as an assistant director of planning in Tustin. She's also worked for the cities of Anaheim and Duarte, and was a commissioner for Long Beach's Cultural Heritage Commission.
