The Downtown Downey Improvement Association (DDIA) would like to congratulate Michael Calvert for his installation as president of the Downey Coordinating Council.
In his day job, Michael is executive director of the Downey Chamber of Commerce, which is responsible for the annual Downey Christmas Parade (coming up on Dec. 3) and Street Faire.
But Michael also gives back to the community. He is a past president and current board member of Downey Los Amigos Kiwanis, a board member with the DDIA, and was active with the Coordinating Council before his elevation to president.
