Lizette Lopez, author of the book "Santiago's Daughter: A Child of An Immigrant raised in Mania, Depression, and Poverty," will be at the Downey City Library on Aug. 20 for a book reading and signing.
Lopez, a licensed marriage and family therapist, wrote the book to "provide insight into the experiences of mental health for those who might not otherwise hear about it."
The book details the struggles of Lopez's father, Santiago Lopez Arellano Jr., who lived with undiagnosed bipolar disorder for many years.
The book signing is from 1:30-2:30 pm at the Downey City Library, 11121 Brookshire Ave.
